Second phase of Better Barnsley development under way

Heb Group, working in conjunction with Henry Boot Construction and Barnsley Council, is set to commence the second phase of the promising redevelopment of Barnsley City Centre.

The first wave of modernisation has provided the people of Barnsley with a light, contemporary indoor market with excellent links to public transport. This phase of the ‘Better Barnsley’ programme will see the metropolitan centre demolished and replaced with new retail and leisure opportunities for local businesses. The total Better Barnsley scheme, combined with additional public realm improvements and a new college building, will bring the total town centre investment to £100m.
