New Contract Win: Heb C&H Appointed at Bywell CE Junior School
We’re proud to announce a new cleaning and caretaking partnership with Bywell CE Junior School. Following a period of ongoing issues with their previous supplier, including inconsistent cleaning standards, communication breakdowns, and lack of visibility from management, the school made the decision to seek out a more hands-on and responsive provider. They needed a team who wouldn’t just deliver a service, but who would embed themselves into the school’s daily operation and support its wider goals. After an initial consultation and site audit, Heb Cleaning & Hygiene was selected to take over the contract and lead a more proactive, professional approach.
As part of our mobilisation plan, we restructured the on-site team to deliver greater consistency and clearer accountability. We now provide four cleaning operatives who cover classrooms, corridors, communal areas and washrooms, as well as a full-time caretaker working 52 weeks a year. Recognising the need for improved day-to-day management, we increased the total service hours to allow for the introduction of an on-site cleaning supervisor, a key role that supports staff, monitors quality, and acts as a central point of contact for the school’s leadership. We also implemented our Evalu8 Time & Attendance system, providing full visibility over shift patterns and improving both accountability and trust.
Beyond staffing and scheduling, we introduced a number of upgrades to improve efficiency and cleaning results. Upright vacuums were brought in to replace less effective tub models, particularly in carpeted areas where performance and hygiene are essential. We also introduced a new range of professional-grade cleaning chemicals designed for education settings, ensuring a safe and effective solution across all areas of the school. Before starting on site, all staff received full Health & Safety training specific to the layout and risks of Bywell School, covering COSHH, manual handling, emergency procedures, and equipment usage, laying the groundwork for a safe, confident team from day one.
This was a contract that needed a hands-on, structured approach right from the start. Bywell School were really clear about what hadn’t worked for them previously and that allowed us to tailor the service in a meaningful way. We spent time on site, listened, planned carefully, and put the right people and systems in place. The result has been a real shift in standards and communication, and we’re proud of how quickly the team have made an impact.
